On the second day of Raya my true love sent to me..

Purple

.. a really creepy old cemetery.

This old Protestant cemetery along Northam Road is where Francis Light was buried in 1794. His grave is still there, though oddly for the guy who tricked Sultan Kedah to give away the island, it's not the grandest one.

It wouldn't be too hard isn't it? Kelentong sultan. Kan?

Here's a fact that might help you one day; Francis' son William Light, following his daddy's footstep, founded the city of Adelaide in Australia.

William's mother is a Catholic lady of Portuguese/French and a little dose of Siamese/Malay blood. It was against the Company's rules to marry a Catholic so Francis never officially declared the union.

By the way, that must've been one awesome lady.

Our boy William was born in Kuala Kedah, back then under Siamese rule. Therefore, there is a chance that one of my great great ancestors might have stumbled upon Little Bill and had a little chat with the boy that inspired him to set up a city where Adelaide now stands.

Probably.

So now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
